Thanks for the info guys. I took the part number info in from this post to my local BMW dealer and they were able to make me a decent deal in switching out the chrome trim on my non-sport 06 530xi to Shadowline. Cost was $330 for parts and labor after tax. I think that was a fair deal....

No, it's not just you. I like the chrome on black too. But I would not have it on silver, for example.
I have Silver Metallic and as soon as the sun comes out, I am changing it although it looks cool now, I think the Shadow line is better!

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but doesn't the E60 M5 have the high gloss shadow line trim? The 545/550 and 530 have the matte shadow line trim. It's similar to what they did with the E39. The 530 had matte shadow line and the 540 and M5 had high gloss shadow line. Not sure if the high gloss is more expensive, but just thought I'd throw that out there. If you're pulling the part #'s off of realoem for an E60 M5, you may want to make check if it's high gloss or not. Not that it really matters, but price could be a factor...

The dealership was BMW of Peoria (Peoria, IL). I did not have the high gloss shadowline trim installed, just the trim that was standard as part of the sport package on the 530i. I have been happy with their service. They also installed the iPod adapater (not the aux connection) in my car during the same visit for the trim change.
