Where did i get what? the iPod interface or the faceplate?

you can get the interface and faceplate @ www.aftermarketbulbsshop.com. Just the interface for 280 shipped and 288.99 for interface and faceplate combined.

sorry if im in the wrong thread..i own a 525 07 which is as well prewired for a 6changer and i have nav + it plays and reads mp3. my question is do i have to buy that aftermarket? or can i simply buy the ipod integration from the dealer? when i called they quoted me 150 for the piece but 600 for the labor..

They quoted you wrong. retail for the interface is 299. installation sounds about right. HOWEVER!!! the interface will work for your 5 and you don't even need the mp3 retrofit since your ride already plays mp3's so it will be a plug & play installation. call them again and make SURE that they quoted you 150 for the iPod interface with the part number 65110036448. Highly doubtful that they quoted you the right price. Once you get the part, you can do the install yourself which is idiot proof and can be done in about 20 min.

Good Luck

I just had the IPOD adapter installed in my 2006 530 and I have a question the manual doesn't cover. When the car gets turned off does the IPOD aiutomatically power down or does it continue to draw power?

Thanks in advance for your help.

i'm not 100% sure but i do believe the iPod keeps drawing power but in sleep mode as it usually would when not in operation. It should therefore draw close to nothing and won't affect your battery. I've had my car sit for a week with it connected and no issues.

Schulrog speaks the truth! It is very easy to install. Loosen the screws holding Cd changer, pull out, unplug the harness, plug the harness and play your tunes! Very easy.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure so I have been unhooking it every time I leave the car.
