Excellent
I'll let you know the VIN when I get in from work.
EDIT: Plus I'll have a proper look at the wiring in the daylight.
Sounds good.. if you see the red and brown wire then you should have the pre-wiring... come to think of it.. a picture would REALLY help!

that's the CD-Changer prewiring.. look around more. there should be wires that make a loop... check out page #3 on this thread.. you'll have to dig around in the glovebox a bit. it might be hidden

Inside this loom you'll find a fiber bridge in a small plastic block just like the pic http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=692736.

No Problem. You actually might have to have the iPod interface or a CDC connected for them to be able to do the CDC enabling.

Ok, so following on from this....I have the pre-wiring and we have located the loop. Now I assume from reading Page 3/7 of this thread i need a "Bridge" to plug into my connector. (Part H in the wiring diagram and BMW P/N 61138387214)
As asked earlier in the thread by another member, is this part included in the iPod kit or do I need to out-source it?
I want to get this done and the iPod kit fitted before I ask my dealer to enable MP3 playback and the CDC (As Roger has mentioned)

Oh yeah.....I need an iPod too

I got in contact with BMW of Newport and they sent me the instructions via .pdf and it has the part overview. Since the fiber optic housing is listed I'm going to assume that it's included in the retrokit or should I ask for that also?
read a couple posts up lol yes, that part is included in the kit as far as i know
