So I've been holding off on getting the Dension 500 for my car for almost two years now, but this whole iPad thing got me back to thinking about getting the Dension unit. So, the obvious question - to which, I'm sure there's lots of hypothesis, but little factual evidence - is whether the iPad will work with the Dension unit flawlessly (or as flawlessly an iPhone/iPod touch would, at least). And second issue I'm concerned about is mounting the iPad inside - we have little precious storage space in E60 already.
So just wanted to see what ideas everyone else has on this subject. I have checked Dension's site, but couldn't find any 4-1-1 on this.
Best,
V.
PS apologies if I'm tonymac'ing, but I have searched the forum prior to posting this with no success.

my thinking is that there's no reason why it should not work as it looks like it`s pretty much the same as the Iphone, it
has all the same features just bigger.

At first glance, I thought the same thing. Yet there might be some kind of marketing gig that'll prevent it from being fully compatible with pre-iPad plugs, or smth. I am thinking about getting the Dension unit, so now I want to wait until the iPad is out and people have tried this successfully. Maybe, when I get my iPad, someone local with the Dension installed can give me a hand in testing all the features.

I have the Dension 500 in my 06 E60 M5 and the Ipad 3g, this will not work, at least right now. Music will not play through the Dension, the Ipad's screen comes up with message "This device not supported by Ipad". It also will not charge, probably not enough amperage... Anyone else have the same experience?
