how to install the Steering wheel (Wood Trim)

My Ride: My Ride: E60 523i 2006 Exterior: Titanium gray / 19" (8.5) star spoke 128 wheels tire size (245/35) ///M5 Kit. Interior: Beige Dakota Leather with Dark Poplar Wood Trim Equipment: Xenon Headlights / Bluetooth / i pod / Sunroof / Rear blinds / PDC.

Hi, I want to change my steering wheel Trim from the (Black Plastic Trim) to the wooden Trim, and also the gear, I want to change it from the silver trim to the wooden trim, can any buddy help me, and show me how can i Do It My Self ?

You need to remove the airbag to get acess the trim acess.

I did not know that BMW has a wooden steering wheel trim available. I just bought the silver trim to replace the original black trim on the steering wheel. Here is what I did: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...2&hl=lcc014

Regarding to the shifter, BMW has a wooden one that you can buy and replace the stock one by pulling the shifter up (very hard). Then you insert and push the wooden shifter back in.

they are available in all bmw dealer, but you may have to order them as they may not be in stock because they are relatively new...

Really ?? So BMW finally makes wood steering wheel trim, that's good. How about the colour of the wood ?

I am going ot the dealer today to complete the sterring wheel trim piece upgrade. I will find out the colors of the wood...wish me luck. SO the trim is easy to replace for a not to handy guy? thanks

Yes. The only thing that most members concern about is the dealing with air-bag removal.
