but he said:
Plot#83 was the new scoop RPI made for me. It's much bigger
Plot#86 was my original custom made by RPI. It a little bigger than regular E60 and slightly smaller than M6 one.
It is much bigger than what?
It's much bigger than a normal E60 M5 scoop and his original custom M5 scoops
little bigger than regular e60 (which one?)
Again E60 M5
it confuses me.
Keang24's original M5 scoop was custom. No other E60 M5 has scoops of the same size.
Then you said smaller is better. then I can make one more smaller.
Please do. Post pre and post dynos to validate any gains.
it takes about less of 5 mins to cut and fit. $2 for the duct.

I think it'll scoop/push more air in if you put it at an angle (bend) towards the front
instead of just a flat surface (air tends to collect at and block the entryway).

I thought you couldn't really measure the impact of a ram air system on a stationary dyno, since when the car isn't moving, there's no ramming.... Am I wrong?

I think the scoop will work better running from 50 km/h..... I am not all sure or wrong but there are dynos with a big fan that measures the speed/wind.

No idea. That is why the beta testers for the 545i, pre-LCI 550i, and LCI 550i need to get dynoed.
Sorry for not making myself clear. My original custom made scoop(#86) was damage from chip/rock and Eloy got a new design(#83) for me to try instead of repair my original. I put the new one on for weekend run and my buddy told me that my car feel weaker. I have no clue until I put the car on dyno a week later and it put out 398whp(#83), then I put my original custom made scoop and redyno again at 425.8whp(#86)
I will put the production version on the dyno tomorrow and compare to my original custom design. If the result similar to my original one, I probably put the production one until the original get repaint.
My original custom: shape/size similar to M6 scoop but fit M5.
My new design that lose power: even bigger than my original. maybe even bigger than M6 version.
So, bigger doesn't mean it will flow better.
