Yes, it is bended... In the picture it seems not but it is. I will shot a better picture and also will make another scoop more smaller (version 2.0)

M , why not try using PVC drain pipe elbows ???

Yeah, I thought them before but they are too big and can't fit (not flexible and thick). but the metal elbows might work cause they are flexible.

I am doing a version 2.0 soon.

FYI, I hope you have a dynamometer. More than likely you're LOSING power with the homemade scoop. Case in point, keang24 was outfitted with newer and bigger scoops for his M5. Soon thereafter, he did some highway pulls with another M5 and the results were most disappointing. When his M5 was dynoed, he had LOST 20rwhp. So, he put his original scoops back on and regained the 20rwhp. There is a science to making the ram air scoops and homemade ones aren't going to cut it. Good luck in your endeavor.
Picture worth a thousand words.

Plot#83 was the new scoop RPI made for me. It's much bigger
Plot#86 was my original custom made by RPI. It a little bigger than regular E60 and slightly smaller than M6 one.

Who would have thought that slight angle change could creat turbulance in the airbox and lose as much as 26whp on DynoDynamic.

Did you look at the attached pic and read his entire post?

Both scoops are made by RPI.
#83 was the bigger scoop = loss in power
#86 original scoop = increased power

Here's the pic again in case you missed it...

If you're interested, I can add you to the RPI scoop for V8 list, http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=683906

but he said:

It is much bigger than what?
little bigger than regular e60 (which one?)

it confuses me.

Then you said smaller is better. then I can make one more smaller.
it takes about less of 5 mins to cut and fit. $2 for the duct.
