How do you install rear reflectors? It's easy !
Hi -

I just installed my rear reflectors 5 minutes ago. Very easy DIY.

To give you a reference point... Starting on the driver side rear corner, I used a shoestring and poked the middle of it around and behind the "blank" filler piece at the point closest to the center of the car (the right-end point of the filler piece).

With an end of the shoestring in each hand, I shimmied the shoestring back-and-forth towards the center of the filler piece (to the left) for about one and a half inches (it won't go any further). Then I braced myself and gave a good hard pull.

The filler piece pops right out. I thought I broke it out - gasp - (I've only had my 06 525i for a week) but the filler piece was in fine shape when it fell to the floor of my garage. You may want to put a towel on the floor to avoid scratches when the piece falls out. The new reflector pops right in.

Mirror the process on the passenger side and you are done.

I ordered my 2 reflectors from Elite Automobiles in Ottawa, Canada 1-613-749-7700 for $40 Canadian for the pair plus $6 tax. Email parts@elitebmw.com
