Mr. Belk,

Would it be too much trouble to take a picture of the connectors and their location? In know you're already done now, so it might be a PITA. It might help all the future readers....

James
It's no trouble. I'm a pro at removing that panel now. I'll get a shot tonight.

I went our (oh, by the way, to remove the panel, turn the black tab , then pull---don't just pull like h3ll., because you'll break the tab)

I see two different connectors that could be plugged together. I wonder which is which. This picture shows the lower set of connectors unplugged. Is this for the phone?

Ok, then I took it apart and put everything back the way it was, because I found the two double connectors on the upper left (near the brake light). I wasn't sure which set did what, and wanted to prevent a visit to the BMW dealership for a 10IDT error!

jsankford,

You did right by connecting the "single" connectors. Those are what the TIS bulletin showed in its illustration. I think maybe the double connectors are for the DVD system or maybe Sirius?

I tried to get that exact same picture a minute ago, and my camera couldn't get a focus.

Thanks Mr. B.

I'd love to know more about those double connectors. I wonder what they're for!

What did you do with the little piece that was left over?

James,

I put it in the basement with the other stuff that I've removed/replaced, like the default center console "upper" storage tray and the black plugs.

I am no tech and am not sure but I have seen several pictures of a camera option for the rear and front of the car. It is not available yet but it is shown in the accesories brochure over here.. Maybe they use the cables for the camera's???

What black plugs? This was just that one little piece, that came off and those two cables just snapped together...

I'l create a 'spare parts' box somewhere myself.

James
