Hi,

I finished up making my own Leather iDrive controller knob, couldn't see the value in paying A$130 ex. Germany for a genuine one.

All I did was:
  1. Create a circle on the PC (280 pixels round)
  2. Stuck some black double-side automotive rubber tape to the underside of the leather to stiffen it
  3. Stapled the paper with the circle to the leather section
  4. Cut out the leather circle and removed the staples
  5. Removed the paper on the other side of the double-sided tape
  6. Stuck it to the i_drive controller knob

It's not high-tech, cost me A$0.25 in leather and it has a nice soft feel due to the leather and rubber double-sided tape.

Hi,

I would also pay 33 Euro, but would you pay 79 Euro (A$130) for it, that's what BMW in Adelaide have quoted.

Looks like it will have rubber or leather around the perimeter to provide extra grip.

It does has small plastic rectangles around the perimeter to provide more grip, it feels nice to the touch, I might get my hands on one of those.

Hi,

Is that the part number for the latest E60 LCI leather iDrive controller knob with the soft rubber raised pads?

Is the LCI 6 speed steptronic gear selector available to purchase? If yes, do you have an approx. price and part number?
