My Ride: 2004 BMW 530I, K&N CAI, M-tech front bumper, Sprint-booster, Silver Hella taillights (vehicle is under construction)
lol.. ma bad.. i forgot to mention that im planning to tapped the foglight too so my car will look the same as the merc when unlocking the door in this case hid fog should work right?

mhhh... since it's going to be dimming etc. i'm not sure if the bulbs will ignite properly. It wouldn't damage anything to try and see. In the end, if it doesn't work u can just easily take off the connection

I don't believe that it can produce enough power to turn on with a diode, maybe if you run a relay to the battery then to the fogs. I could be wrong, maybe I can be a ginnie pig and try it out.

A diode doesn't draw power. It only prevents the current from going the opposite direction so you have a full 12V flowing through and it shouldn't have any issues. My only thought is that with the dimming they might not come on properly but trying it is worth while.
