Can you link us to the vendor you used on Ebay? Also, would this work if we are pre-LCI and don't have Nav/CCC?

Would it not be easier to tap into the daytime running light at the headlight, rather than at the footwell module, eliminating the need to run any wires through the firewall? Didn't you get a "light out" indicator or reoccuring bulb failure from your procedure? Thanks.

Hi Guys,

I have a quick question for the AE exports. Did any one experience a Check engine soon light coming on after this mod? I followed the wiring diagram and double checked all the parts to make sure it correct and it is. The AE illuminate as my DRL which is what I wanted however, the next morning when I was pulling out of the driveway, the Check engine soon light came on. I just wanted to find out if I'm the only one experiencing this. This is happening on my 2007 530i. I'm also going to get a OBD scan to see if it might be something else later today but just wanted to check here first.

Thanks,

Not suppose to happen. Just a coincidence, and obviously you need to get that checked out.

Plus it would require you to have the high beams running in low voltage mode as DRL as well, which is fug.

And on that note, I actually bought the parts to retrofit footwell and it arrived yesterday. I'll either spend today, tomorrow, or Saturday, and get it installed
