I have followed the detailed instructions on the support website, for which I am VERY grateful, however
although I now have a burned DVD which seems to have all of the relevant files, in the right locations, when inserted into my DVD slot in the car I get no recognition.

I am an experienced PC user but this is the first time that I have used the perl scripts (or similar), so I anticipate some pilot error on my part.

Anyone have any ideas why my DVD+RW with all necessary files isn't recognosed by my 04-2005 E61?

Kind regards
Andy
Which method did you follow, Nero or ISO ?

I presume you are following the Nero method, correct?

When you test your perl installation with

c:\cygwin\bin\perl -v

does this work correctly?

What error do you get when when you try to run the createidxurl.pl script?

The format of the input file the perl script is expecting is

Longitude,Latitide,"description"

so as long as your input file is in this format you should be ok. Note
the description bit does need "" around it like this:

;Longitude,Latitude,Name
-2.17788,50.68304,"GATSO:1@40"
-2.09934,50.70723,"GATSO:2@30"
-2.08936,53.50270,"GATSO:3@20"
-0.11078,52.02661,"GATSO:8@70"
-0.39579,51.52150,"GATSO:10@50"
-2.48386,52.69615,"GATSO:12@30"
-2.07762,53.51140,"GATSO:13@30"
-2.74783,53.32440,"GATSO:14@60"

Hope this helps.

and in the command prompt have you changed directory to where the speed camera locations input file is located before executing the command? If not then you will need to do that or change your command line to something like:

c:\cygwin\bin\perl createidxurl.pl c:\<dir holding input file>\pocketgps_uk_sc.asc 9000

Hi Mathmos,

Hope you had a nice holiday..?

I am using NERO Reloaded v6 to burn the DVD.
All seems to correct as the files are on the disc as they should be, but when I insert it into the drive
then there is no recognition and it contiues to call for the disc.

I realise that you are being inundated by requests for assistance - once I can get this sorted then I
will be able to make my own updates as and when required.

Thanks for your assistance.

Kind regards
Andy
