Lubrication is part of the process, and I'm sure that minimizes the chance for scratching. If clay would have improved the gloss from the paint shop, that may have been a part of the BMW paint process.

If you feel comfortable with your experience, there is no reason not to pass it on.

Thanks, i wasn't planning on claybaring, compounding for a while. I was just wondering how well that stuff worked. I dont have swirls yet so ill lay off the polish, I was just wondering what were the benifits of those steps were. I wasn't planning on doing it. Thanks Again
