My car just got back from service and their Status/Final report & Measures plan print out has Target data status as E60-07-09-530, how do I relate that TDS to CIP version number?

Anyone knows something about the CIP V29 starting at March? Are E60/61 affected.

That equates to CIP 28.00.01. No reported fixes. Just coding for housekeeping non-vehicle operating functions.

Does anyone know if there has been a service bulletin on the Air Bag Sensor light in the 04' 545i. My issue is that when I have a front passenger the Air Bag Sensor light sometimes does not turn off to show that the Air Bag is active when the seat is occupied.

Just got 30.01. Any idea what's been updated since 27? I had my IBOC tuner (HD radio) replaced and as part of that they reprogramed the whole car. Everything seems the same so far.

 

BMW quit updating the Service Bulletin for PROGMAN after last September (2007). They even went so far as to remove the September 07 3 series bulletin that was online as it appeared to have quite a list of issues and many of the e90 crowd were jumping on the update bandwagon. Their latest official bulletin for the 3 series is March ?07 now. There are few clues now as to what is fixed via other bulletins on other equipment. Still too hard to piece it all together and have a coherent picture. Dealers have a screen on the update system that truncates the version number so you probably really have v30.00.01 just released via an online update to dealers a couple of weeks ago.

 

A quick question for you cobradav. I replaced my E61 with an E91 and have a problem with the driver's mirror constantly changing position when the car is unlocked. This happens when the car is opened with either comfort access or the key fob. Seat and key memory is programmed and on. Happens with both fobs. Apparently this is a problem with many of the E9X range. Do you have any suggestions because the dealer most certainly does not? Thanks in advance.

 

As of mid June it was under investigation by BMW engineering. They have told dealers that no parts or reprogramming fixes the issue and to standby for a solution in the form of a Service Bulletin. I'll watch for it and post if and when I see it.

Just bought my '05 545i a couple of months ago (private transaction). Noticed I had the CD run on problem and no pop up arrow window with the map displayed in the assistance window when in nav mode. They called and told me to come pick up the car as they could not duplicate the problems. Gave them the SIB numbers and a day later they had upgraded the Progman to 30.02. Not only did those two problems get corrected, the "eyebrows" are now illuminating (previously they did not) and the car seems to shift much smoother. I also can now search categories, such as restaurants, by name.
