My Ride: Black Sapphire
2004 5.30i
A little while back I had posted some issues I was told that I had by my BMW mech...
One of the problems was that my shifter sleeve/transmission was leaking fluid and I'd need it replaces...quoted me at $1100 or $1900 (can't remember which).
Well I've been shopping around for a good BMW mechanic outside of the dealerships...finally found one...Martin Motorsports Inc...aka Gary Martin ...he's been racing BMW's for 15 years and really seems to know the brand...
Anyways he called me this afternoon and said the following:
"whatever BMW technician you spoke with is f***ing ignorant...I looked all over the place for a leak...the only issue you have is that your drain plug isn't screwed in that tight..."
so for any of you NoVA members who are looking for a good mechanic ...check this guy out...
(now stop thinking i should have posted this in the area where you praise vendors...when i started typing it was to tell a story...and i've just now realized my story doesn't have a point)

Thats great to know. Too many times the dealerships want to over-charge you.
I'm assuming you are referring to Northern VA and if so, which city is he located in?

when you're warranty runs out I HIGHLY recommend him...
he had his M3 out front and his Z06 in the back (he actually took the time to take me back and show me the fact that my old control arms were actually torn up)...
Axeman is right too...the guy has plenty of stories and loves tellin him...it is great.
