Hey guys the 5 series are so good that my car fixed itself over night!!! My Nav computer is working again. Yahoo no scheduled visits to the dealership necessary now.

The Porsche is definitely a fun car to drive. I love it but its not comfortable for long jaunts. It has nav and some electronic goodies but the 5 has more. If you own a Porsche make sure you buy a daily driver. I know alot of people drive the 997 series as daily drivers but for me its to much work. I love the car though, nothing takes a series of corners like a Porsche.
I recently went from a 2005 997S Coupe 6-speed manual to my 550i with Steptronic. The 997S was the best of the 5 Porsche 911 cars I have owned, but for me it was no longer a comfortable drive. The 997S is an incredible car in terms of handling and power, but I guess I am beginning to feel my age. So far I am enjoying my 550i very much. My grandkids like it, too. They love the Nav in perspective mode.

I'm sure you can find some volunteers to make your Porsche feel more wanted. Next time I'm in Vegas, I would be more than happy to oblige.

Aww man I was just in vegas not too long ago. I could have used a 997 down the strip.

For people in need of $ comparison, this was my deal. I got my car for $69,500.00 including the aero kit. MSRP was $74,500.00. ( My options are in my sig.) Please everyone dont be scared to post your prices, you are not getting anyone in trouble, even if your salesman told you that your deal was one of a kind, do you really beleive that?

I agree with you E60VTA I think everyone should own a Porsche once for a little while. They are not long term vehicles because most people dont like the harsh ride and shifting all the time. They are fun but you out grow them. The M5 on the other hand is the perfect combination of a 5 series and Porsche put in one. I think that will be my next target and Ill sell both cars for that one. Not for a while any how.

By the way most of the '06 550s I saw on the dealers lots have bridgestone Potenzas now not the Dunlops. Mine has Bridgestones also. Just in case anyone was wondering.

I agree - every driver should have a chance to enjoy a Porsche for a few years. I only hope my BMW gives me as much pure driving pleasure.

My 530i on order will replace a 2002 Targa - if anyone's interested, the lease is assumable and listed on
swapalease.com - $620/month until July 2007.

Congratulations! I know that Crevier has very good prices on parts. I am seriously considering the M5 (style 166) rims. I was quoted $1600 by Veheh at Crevier; the best my dealership could do was $1800 and then I would be subject to 9% sales tax.

Yep. I bought one of the last remaining new 996 - 911's a month ago as a daily driver. It seems that those who do use it as a daily driver get a lot of relative mainenance free driving. Those whose cars are weekend drivers seem to be the ones who consistently have troubles. It is so much fun to drive every day, but it is a bit of work. I am still not out of the 2k miles break in period yet so i have yet to really open it up. Love the 997 in your garage. Love the 550 too. I was very close to getting the 650 or maybe M car, but after driving the 911 and finding such a great deal on a new 996 I decided to go ahead with the 911. good luck with the 550 it is a wonderful car.
