Here in the US, you cannot get BMW Individual, but sometimes you can get special order exterior colors or exterior/interior color combinations.

Special order generally runs an extra $1500 - $2000, and needs to be coordinated with your dealer and with BMWNA.?

From what I understand, they can (but will not always) get you a car painted in any color used at the factory where the car is built.? For example, you may be able to get a 5er in a 7er-only color because they're both built at the same factory, but you could not get a 5er in an X5-only color because they're built in different factories.

FWIW, I also know that they won't do ED with special order color cars - I think because they can't guarantee build-date.

It is IMPOSSIBLE in US!!!!!!!??? :'(

Just throwing my heavily Porter induced $.02 in. You can order any color you want in the U.S. excluding the reserved colors for about $1800. So for example you cannot order the LeMans Blue which is found on the 4.8is and put it on a X5 3.0. This will hold true for e60s(non M5) tring to get a M color like Imola Red.

You can also order special interior colors or even substitue wood trim for painted panels to match the exterior. This can usually be done for no money extra as paint is cheaper than wood.

You can indeed do this on a Lease car however you may be required to pay for the additional money up fornt so your dealer won't get burned. Lease payment is affected but on paint its not as bad as say different wheels which you typically won't get a deal on and will end up paying the difference out of pocket.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum, ktulu!
I wonder what's the source of your information? Is it up to date? Is the car supposed to be painted at the factory in Germany? Has anybody in the US had such an experience with e60 and cud confirm it?

So to make a long story short; what colors can we get on E60 exterior/interior? Same as any car being built at E60 factory?

I don't think it's impossible. The dealers are just chickens...
At least if you pay for the car on order, you get it with any dealer in the US, I think...

Thanks for the welcomes guys. Been on m5board for awhile but just recently found e60.net. Very nice resource.

The e60 should be no different than any other model when it comes to paint. It is done at the factory and may take a bit longer but not much and can be really worth it. I only have first hand experience with the X5 but I have talked to others who have done it with German made bimmers and there experience was the same.

I have been thinking about Carbon Black but have only seen it on one e39 and not sure if its worth it. I prefer Jet Black but I have seen several e60s with that color flesh. I want to be 'individual' but still not be noticed. The canvas I am waiting on is the 550 (debadged).

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Anyway I can hardly beleive it that, given a German resident ordering specific BMW paint (which is not part of their Individual programme) from the factory pays EUR 3800,
US resident could get it for around USD 1800 from the same factory in Germany.
I wish somebody in U.S. tried it with his new e60. :'(

there are Individual colors and then you have the option to get any color you want... I guess your 3800 ? is for the personal color, and the 1800 $ is for the Individual color, if not ordered with a package.
