I know in Canada you are able to order Individual upon request. I have seen E60's in dealerships in Vancouver, with extended Leather, multicolor sterring wheels, Alcantara headliner, freaky wood colors, etc...
Its not marketed well on NA websites and showrooms though,
and costs CA$5500 - $9500... (for the full packages i1, i2, and i3)

cheers.

Wow, sure sounds like the real deal (high cost and all!!).

I know that there's a difference between BMW Canada, Inc. (out of Whitby, ON for the Canadian market) and BMW of North America, LLC (out of Woodcliff Lake, NJ for the US market), but if one is doing it, maybe the other is as well.

Wolverine, hurry up and get more information from your dealer!!

Dealer confirmed they can order anything shown on the BMW individual site, either as a package or individually. It's a 'special order' situation, and will cost $$$'s and take extra time, but it is available. And yes, they will require a nonrefundable downpayment prior to submitting the order.

Wolverine:

I'm sorry I doubted you! Thanks for the info.

I just went through the individual process, and got the same answer from 5 different dealers. Currently they are only doing individual on M models. I could not get them to do any individual on an E60. I wanted Carbon Black exterior paint, and they said no. Sooooo you may have better luck, but thought pass on my experience.

I don't know if my dealer would do individual on a 'non-M' car. I'll ask them Friday.

I would love the Alcantara Steering wheel (the one on 330i Performance Package) on the 530i/545i/550i. Does anyone know if that's possible through BMW Individual? Also, anyone here ever wondered why there's a 330i Performance Package, but no 530i/545i/550i Performance Package? I love the 330i Performance Package, but I also love the E60 5-series. :'(

If you do a search on BMW Individual you'll find that it is NOT offered in the US. There is a recent thread on this topic in the other models section of the forum. A red/red E60 would be way over the top IMHO. I have seen an M3 in this colour combo and it looked awful - way too much red. Having said that I've also seen a Laguna seca blue ext/int on an M3 and didn't like that either. That's the beauty of choice though.

Not so fast... My wife has a 3er in Velvet Blue metallic.... We order it that way... The simple answer is just find out the correct option code for what you want and have your rep check the block... It is not a big deal

Bottom line is you have to know what you want and do the research..

Welcome to the forum, Tiberon.
The only thing is that the research in this field is heavilly restricted by the indifference of BMW in this regard.

Just throwing my heavily Porter induced $.02 in. You can order any color you want in the U.S. excluding the reserved colors for about $1800. So for example you cannot order the LeMans Blue which is found on the 4.8is and put it on a X5 3.0. This will hold true for e60s(non M5) tring to get a M color like Imola Red.

You can also order special interior colors or even substitue wood trim for painted panels to match the exterior. This can usually be done for no money extra as paint is cheaper than wood.

You can indeed do this on a Lease car however you may be required to pay for the additional money up fornt so your dealer won't get burned. Lease payment is affected but on paint its not as bad as say different wheels which you typically won't get a deal on and will end up paying the difference out of pocket.

Hope this helps.
