The sticker on the Z06 is 77k they are asking 66k, going to try and see if I can get it for 60k. This is very tempting. I've always wanted a Z06 and this might be my chance to get one.
In my opinion, you do not need an extended warr for a C5, as there are no built in problems. On the C6, I have not done much research on it.

your gonna love it! Did you get 6 speed? The stock heads on these flow huge numbers. If you need good info for modding ls1tech dot com has all your needs 
A good tune will do you justice, these cars run safe lean stock. cruising interstate in 6th @85 i was able to get 28mpg in my TA! (400whp)
