Was at a dealer this past Saturday to look at the new Camaro's, but ended up taking a look and test driving an '08 Corvette Z06 with only 157 miles on it. I currently have a 550i but was thinking in 2yrs of trading it in for an m5, but my 550 probably would be worth 30k or less by then and I would have to come up with another 60-65k to get a new m5. The sticker on the Z06 is 77k they are asking 66k, going to try and see if I can get it for 60k. This is very tempting. I've always wanted a Z06 and this might be my chance to get one.

Don't get a Vette. Sure its a fast and sporty car, but that's all...
A BMW is a REAL car.

I have to agree. I looked at a Z06 about a year ago. The thing that clinched it (not buying it) was the shit interior. That is where you spend all of your time and it was all cheap-ass plastic. You can't beat the interior of the BMW.

A Corvette is an American icon that is VERY fast and VERY sporty. The Z06 version (which like the M is ideally suited for a track) is just as "real" as ANY production BMW and easily outperforms just about all of them. There aren't many people your age who would chose your 545i, or a 4 door anything over a Vette.

If you want - it get. It sounds like a good deal, personally I prefer the M5 (you can get a 2008 M5 for around $60k near me). I am more of a traditionalist when it comes to Corvettes, the only one I want (and it is one of my ULTIMATE dream cars) is the 67 Stingray with the 427 under the stinger hood.
