I really don't think BMW is a class leader in that particular respect, BMW interiors are mid-pack at best. As for the Z06, its performance is stellar and while I agree that he interior isn't the best in the class, it's nowhere near bad enough to undermine the rest of the package. The Z06 and ZR1 (together with the CTS-V) don't need any of the usual GM price/value qualification, they stand alone on merit as highly capable machines.

I am sure we can pretty much agree that as far as top performance cars go (and yes the Vette qualifies) - the Z06 offers fantastic bang for the buck and exceptional fun factor compared to the price. I like the car, just prefer the older ones, and for me a 2 seater is impractical until the kids go to college (which isn't that about the time most guys get Corvettes anyway?)

Was at a dealer this past Saturday to look at the new Camaro's, but ended up taking a look and test driving an '08 Corvette Z06 with only 157 miles on it. I currently have a 550i but was thinking in 2yrs of trading it in for an m5, but my 550 probably would be worth 30k or less by then and I would have to come up with another 60-65k to get a new m5. The sticker on the Z06 is 77k they are asking 66k, going to try and see if I can get it for 60k. This is very tempting. I've always wanted a Z06 and this might be my chance to get one.

They're very different cars, El, and not really competitors. I think it would be awesome to have both!

Never said it was class leading, but it sure is a hell of a lot nicer than a GM interior. BMW interiors are very nice for their class. Much nicer than MB, Lexus might be slightly nicer. You have to jack the price to AM's and Bentley's if you want nicer. JMO

The M5 and the 550 (or the M5) are not in the same car class. It is like comparing apples and oranges. The Z06 will run circles around both the M5 and the 550 in terms of performance but it is a one-dimensional sports car that seats 2.

If you want - it get. It sounds like a good deal, personally I prefer the M5 (you can get a 2008 M5 for around $60k near me). I am more of a traditionalist when it comes to Corvettes, the only one I want (and it is one of my ULTIMATE dream cars) is the 67 Stingray with the 427 under the stinger hood.

IMHO C6 is hot, but not as a daily driver. If you can keep your e60 and get a Z06, then yeah
otherwise, I'd not do it.
