Congratulations! Enjoy - it is an awesome, awesome machine. I don't think there is a better bang for the buck than the Z06.

Here is a pic of the 550 with the Z06. Going to hopefully take better pics of the '62 vette, '09 Z06 & the '08 550i.

Do your homework - there are alot of low mileage vettes on the market due in part to the lousy economy, but usually because people who buy them don't like them because they are too damn fast. GL
You're kidding, right?
A Corvette is an American icon that is VERY fast and VERY sporty. The Z06 version (which like the M is ideally suited for a track) is just as "real" as ANY production BMW and easily outperforms just about all of them. There aren't many people your age who would chose your 545i, or a 4 door anything over a Vette.
No argument there - but keep in mind this is a sports car of whom most owners do not drive on a daily basis. I haven't seen one yet, but GM has supposedly addressed this with a new option. Still probably not close to BMW but better nonetheless.

Find a C5 vette or a C5 Z with remaining (extended warranty and low low miles. No built in problems with C5. C6 has more electronics like the newer BMWs.
5 series is also a fine car. Two different animals.
If you do not like these, try Hyundai or Kia and keep quiet. lol
