Having read the previous posts i would advice her to by the new Audi Q7. Although i love BMW the model of the X5 might be too old to purchase now. X3 still an option.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.
BMW told me that the X3 is build on the frame of the 3 series, so drives more like a car.
The X5 is nice, but the 3.0 litre is a little small to push the larger X5, but the X5 loaded is big coin, in Canadian, around $90k.
Which infiniti? We haven't been there yet ...
Still need to go to Honda and Toyota, but most likely won't be what we want.
Also need to check out the Volvo XC90 and Land Rover LR3 (although concerned about the quality of these).
Finally, no dantec, I purchased my car (545 loaded) and she'll purchase her own (she's a lawyer)![Big Grin](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/biggrin.gif)

Have you looked into Infiniti FX 35/45? I am currently driving FX35 and so far it has been a great car. No electronics issues...tons of gadgets at a low price. However, my 18" wheels are kind of slippery on ice. You may want to consider having a different set of tires. Gas consumption is ok...15L/100KM. Overall it's worth ithe price of 70K CAD.

Thanks ... plan to look at the FX 35/45 this week or weekend (but the masters is on TV and I'm having problems leaving my livingroom)

FX35 is very fast for a SUV, but RX350 is more comfortable.

New Audi Allroad (A6 variant) comes out this year. Was very happy with my old one. Have no doubt it will be a great car. Sits just a few inches higher than a regular car. Good engines, good looking unlike the Lexus, tough unlike the Lexus, goes offroad unlike the Lexus, has a big boot/trunk unlike the Lexus and I'm sure will be a pleasure to drive for a X-over/SUV/whatever you want to call them ![Wacko](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/wacko.gif)

Would you trust the RX400h Hybrid?
And studies are finally showing that hybrids like the toyota prius consume more then big suv's...

rather that then have an RX !
If your going to get an RX, go for the gasoline version. The hybrid version actually does not save you any gas mileage in the real world.
