I'm glad, it would be hard to believe Lexus would do something like that, plushy rides yes !! fake exhaust ?? hopefully not.

Yep, glad that is the case, otherwise it would have been hilarious.

It still doesn't change the fact the stacked exhaust is UGLY!

Did a Lexus fan have to sign-up to make this one post? LOL

But the true straigt away king, is the new C63, tested by C&D 0-60 in 3.9 sec.

Nope it is the new Nissan GTR 0-60 in 3.5 sec.

I was talking about this segment.

You are right, the GT-R is going to be a beast. Wondering if that 3.5 sec is a conservative number and it may even be faster?

The 3.5 was done by the chief Nissan test driver at a Nissan test track with a pre production model. I doubt we'll ever see that good of a number again.

Just an observation about "quad" vs "dual exhaust". What constitutes quad exhaust?
An M5 has only two headers and two seperate exhaust pipes down to the point of the
mufflers in the rear. This is, in my opinion, a dual exhaust system with the outlets seperated in to
four exhaust tips. Both mufflers at the rear are fed by only a single pipe per side. My 1971 MB280SL
has two seperate headers feeding two seperate pipes going to a single muffler with two outlets from the muffler going
to two seperate exhaust tips. Factory states single exhaust system! What would my 550 exhaust be classified as? I know
with the emegence of so many "X" pipe installs that an argument can arise about how single vs dual systems can be
had. The 550's system does conviene down to a single, so be it larger pipe leading to the mufflers suppling two exhaust tips, duals?
So is a M5 really a quad exhust system? Just being curious!
I agree that the term quad exhaust is somewhat of a misnomer. I believe I commented on this on a previous thread, but I also agree that a "true dual exhaust" is better terminology, with two complete set of pipes and two separate paths coming from the engine. The number of tips should should not matter as this remains a true dual exhaust. This is opposed to the single path exhaust that comes stock.

Something like the RD exhaust with it's quad tips and dual paths would constitute a true-dual exhaust. Something such as the Hamann exhaust with a single path and a piggy back or dummy tips would be a single path exhaust with a "true-dual" or "quad" look.

You'd need somewhat of a perfect launch to achieve that number, but with AWD, launch control and plenty of power, I think that number would be attainable. When these cars are modded to crazy horsepower numbers, I don't think they'll improve on this 0-60 much due to traction issues.
