The CTS-V is going to be all about the chasis and the engine - not about the touch screen NAV ... just as the M5 is not about iDrive.

I've driven the regular CTS as a rental car twice now and I'm very, very impressed with the ride and handling ... not too far behind an E60. And the interior is outstanding with the quality of materials and build as good or better than our E60s - and approaching the benchmark Audi.

It will be interesting to read the first-drive reviews of the CTS-V from the car mags - they LOVED the standard CTS. With massive power and torque, and a chasis tuned on the 'Ring - all for about $30,000 less than an M5 - this will be a car to pay attention to.
Clearly, this car will likely sell some units. Just not to me...

I was reading a recent copy of" Automotive Engineer ", they lead designer and engineer were given ONE competitive target from GM Management when the started the "clean sheet" on this car......................... Guess which one ??................ BMW E60 !! Fact ! They distilled all key measures into a target matrix and set off to meet or exceed all measureables.... it's not a surprise some members have found the car comparable to what the have in their own driveways.....For me... it's got to be BMW or maybe a nice Hyundai

I don't know, I think the interior looks pretty good. The CTS-V use to only be available with a manual transmission, so it's interesting to see the auto in there.

Looks good to you but then again, you have bugs crawling on your screen...

To each his own but for me, when I look at that picture, my eyes can't stop moving -- they just bounce around and around -- there's no flow or elegance to the design, everything just seems as if it's thrown together...

+1. No focus of pertinent info directly in front of driver. Stuff tucked here and there. Does CTS do HUD? That would help, possibly.

Does the C in CTS stand for Catera or Cimarron?

I spent a good chunk of my younger years playing PC games, so learning how operate something with a bunch of buttons isn't too difficult . If anybody hasn't noticed, the E60 has approx 50 different buttons (not counting the iDrive), 5 knobs, and 3 levers within reach of the driver (yes - I actually went out and counted after reading this thread). It think it is not fair to judge an interior design without actually sitting in the car.

Touch screen LCD's can work well, but the LCD should be built into the dash (shorter reach) instead of a pop-up version which besides many other things, can partially block the drivers view of the road.

The only thing I really don't like about this car (and all Caddy's) is the "edgy" design.
