Oh my! They could call it a ... 550.

Left Lane News has the story.

This Cadzilla is set to premier at the Detroit Auto Show this month ... and should be available in September, 2008.

No doubt that in addition to all those buttons, that LCD is a touch screen...

I agree that they're trying and getting closer to the overall "goal" but in my opinion, as they've done for years, by the time they hit the "goal", companies like BMW will have raised the bar (or moved the goal line) to a point where the Cadillac will always be behind and is not something that will appeal to me...

My wife automatically assumes I would like this because of all the buttons - but she has not yet learned how less is more ala BMW interiors. Any touch screen is off my list and this has WAY too many buttons to navigate. It also appears the screen is a "pop-up" which I do not like as it changes the appearance of the dash. Screen also appears to not have good shading from bright sun.

I agree. People who think touch screens are the answer simply don't know what they don't know... What's sad is that Cadillac is likely selling the touch screen as better than the other solutions and these people are falling for it hook, line, and sinker! Also, I'm betting that GM did a bunch of focus group studies that concluded that people prefer touch screen interfaces but it's likely that the participants never had any extensive (meaninful) time behind the alternative interfaces...

I like the exterior, +1 to Caddy.

I like interiors between this and BMW, something like Audi. Audi's interiors are the best in the luxury market today.

The CTS-V is going to be all about the chasis and the engine - not about the touch screen NAV ... just as the M5 is not about iDrive.

I've driven the regular CTS as a rental car twice now and I'm very, very impressed with the ride and handling ... not too far behind an E60. And the interior is outstanding with the quality of materials and build as good or better than our E60s - and approaching the benchmark Audi.

It will be interesting to read the first-drive reviews of the CTS-V from the car mags - they LOVED the standard CTS. With massive power and torque, and a chasis tuned on the 'Ring - all for about $30,000 less than an M5 - this will be a car to pay attention to.
