stevenfw, i think you've already answered your own question. you like the e60 more. if money is not a factor, go get a new 550 or even a m5 . magazines are magazine, your friends are your friends and you are you. go with your feeling. why bother with the others' thinkings? you are the one who drive the car every day. will you put on a pink lace dress if all your friends think it's cute? now pick up your phone and call your audi dealer to cancel the order. then go down to a bmw dealer and test drive a e60 .

The sports package 545 still has a much better ride than the A6, whether the Audi has the sport package or not.

I'll add another viewpoint that may or may not be relevant. I do NOT belong in the "BMW is best, regardless" group. I have never owned one, and chose my current 2002 Acura TL-S over the 330i because frankly the 330i was not much fun (to me). Similarly, I cannot see the 530i as being a viable choice over, let's say, the Acura RL. But that's just for me. Others will have different impressions, and that's fine.

The 545i and 7ers are in an entirely different category to me. I don't care that the 530 and 545 in sport flavors "differ only in engine;" that engine changes the entire character of the car. When the time comes this summer, I am going to buy a BMW. Probably the 545, but the 750 is a possibility.
