The problem I do have is the quality of the transmission is godawful for most people.? It's odd, because some phones receive the transmission beautifully, but most people complain of a really bad echo.? Anyone else have this problem??
Next time someone complains, turn down the volume and ask them if it's any better.
I agree completely. From testing I know that the echo is induced when the volume is too high with Bluetooth setup with the V600 phone.
The voice quality is also dyanmic in relation to the strength of the signal. Low strength signal equals poor audio qaulity.
The audio quality for the listener is worse for the other party for 3 reasons. Car has significant ambient noise which the microphone picks up because the microphone is not next to the speakers mouth. Car is moving in relationship to the cell tower which means that the signal strength varies and the signal is handed off periodically. And the cabin has too many hard surfaces which bounce the sound around creating an echo at higher volumes.

My Ride: May 2004 525 Amethyst grey, Heated front seats, bluetooth prep, Adaptive Xenons, 6 CD changer, Front & Rear PDC, retro-fit 6 DVD changer in boot (trunk) with remote control plus headrest screens and IR headphones, Playstation connection to cabin, twin 12v outlets in rear cabin
I have the Nokia 6310i and the bluetooth connection works everytime. Volume can be a little low, can't get SMS on the i-Drive screen and only the default number is shown for phone book entries but I would still choose bluetooth again.

I have a Treo 600 as well as the in-car kit.? I have yet to find a place where it can be installed without interfering with anything.? I know that the armrest is a logical place but I need to access the number keys quite often (for voicemail passwords, as well as just plain dialing).?
Anyone else out there with a Treo 600? Anyone with the in-car kit?
