I have a Treo 600 as well as the in-car kit. I have yet to find a place where it can be installed without interfering with anything. I know that the armrest is a logical place but I need to access the number keys quite often (for voicemail passwords, as well as just plain dialing).

Anyone else out there with a Treo 600? Anyone with the in-car kit?

I've had my 530i for a week, and the only complaint I have is that there is so little cabin space for things like phones, etc.

It's good to see that I can ask the dealer to remove the phone cradle. That seems like a ridiculous amount of space, and should free up a good deal of open space there.

I tried using my non-Bluetooth phone in that cradle and could never hear it ringing inside there when the stereo was on!

How many of you have modified your armrest space to maximize that area?

I've got the BMW phone (Motorola V60s) installed in the car and it has worked perfectly since the install.? No problems downloading, roaming, voice recognition is terrific, address book there on idrive, missed calls, redial, etc...

The problem I do have is the quality of the transmission is godawful for most people.? It's odd, because some phones receive the transmission beautifully, but most people complain of a really bad echo.? Anyone else have this problem??

(yes the antenna is connected via the purple connector - reception is excellent)

I have a SonyEricsson T610 with Jabra Bluetooth headphone. Much easier than to try and figure out BMW's BT and phone hookup IMO.

I have Bluetooth with a Motorola V600. When Driving to or from the office, I just leave my cell phone in my suit or sport coat pocket which hangs behind the driver on the coat hook. If I have a casual jacket it just stays in the pocket of the jacket which might hang in the same location or I would just wear it. With Bluetooth the phone can go anywhere in the cabin or trunk. Bluetooth is super convenient becasue of its flexibility.

I take exception with your comments about the size of the console and storage in the car. I think that the storage is generous and well designed. The bigger issue is a personal matter as to how the storage is used. The storage design works fine for me.

I had the Motorola v60 installed when I bought the car a year ago. Works all the time, no problems - I have software version 11.2. With a 6-speed manual I need the phone hands free.
