Deleting messages on phone answer machine

Can any one tell me if they know how you can delete a message on the phone, whilst the phone is in it's cradle and the arm rest down
Eample - Voice mail phones you back - listen to message
Then how do you key 2 to save message or 3 to delete message.
The phone is a SE T630 on O2 UK.
On the I drive menu I can't see how this is done or perhaps you can't.
Perhap I have to wait until I stop to delete my messages !
Any ideas
