My Ride: BMW X-5, New Black Saphire Metallic 530i "enroute."
Hey, I know the answer may be answered somewhere in all these postings, so sorry if this question is redundant. I'm contracted with Cingular and plan to stay with them. So, I'm looking for advice on what phones they offer that forum members know work with my 2005 530i. I'm in the metro Chicago area. Thanks!

All of the Moto 600 and 500 series (in whatever guise they are in these days) have always been very compatible with BMWs Bluetooth. When the list was very short the MOTOs were always there. The list is VERY long for cingular phones compared to other service providers.
Both my v5xx series phones worked really well, but the newer v557 is much, much better in battery life. I would look for fully compatible and then check specs for features and battery life. Battery life especially important if you do not plan to recharge in car via cradle or other means.

Motorola SLVR 7 from Cingular works great for me. I used to have the SE T637 and it worked fine but had I had trouble initially loading my address book. Because of the size of my ad book it took about an hour. With the SLVR it takes only a few minutes. Highly recommended.

Awesome Replies!!! Thanks for the help. I thought I would be very limited, but it looks like there are lots of choices. I'm going tonight to do some shopping. Thanks again guys.

I use a Cingular BlackBerry 8700c and it works fantastic. My whole address book from my Outlook email account is automatically synched and I have access to the 300 or so entries on iDrive... Best of all I just keep it in my briefcase and the magic works... Good luck.

I have the 2125 and it works just fine. The only "issue" is that the signal strength is not shown on the IDrive display, as it was with my 551.
