bluetooth contactable menu will not allow check in box

I have a 2006 530d and the bluetooth contactable menu will not allow me to check the box to enable bluetooth pairing
it is so frustrating and I do not know what to do
has anyone had this problem and is there a simple solution

i now can check the box but the phone doesnt see the car and the car doesnt see the phone. i tried other phones but still no good. the bluetooth is working perfectly in all the phones and the car says "bluetooth is contactable" but it seems like it just isnt working
is there anything i can unplug or must I go to the dealer who will be rubbing his hands with delight
