So I'm able to pair my Android phone with the car's bluetooth, able to dial and receive calls. My questions is, isn't the bluetooth able to display my phone list stored on my phone? I can see a message on screen to please wait... but nothing ever happens and I do not remember certain people's phone number to dial and roll the iDrive knob while driving.
So what do I need to do for it to read my phonebook and display the names?

When you first pair your phone it should ask (the Phone) to accecpt access to your contact list for the car. Try unpairing, do this on the car and phone then repair and watch out the a message on the phone.

On certain GSM phones (Few old Nokia model) support TXT messaging.
If you have CDMA/LTE phone such as Verizon, Sprint, etc. you are out of luck.
I use Verizon phone and every options with the exception of TXT works fine.

you have to unpair the bloutooth and then have to check about the setting from your cell phone about the contact synchronization .. set it to yes. or check some other setting in your cell phone with are about the connectivity and then check the settings of your cars software. and make it sure that it is able to synchronize such options. then again pair your cell phone hope that it will be done. and u will able to see the messages and contact list..
