i think i've had a change of heart! i've recently found out that you can successfully unlock the Thunder to use with the GSM network, in my case, TMO!

i don't know how i feel about a touch screen BB, but we'll soon find out!!
I'm sure I don't want a touch screen but obviously some people really like them... Good luck!

I've been using a Bold for about a month now and although I just thought 3G service from Rogers was poor in western canada a firmware update on the Bold has made a world of difference. Calls are clearer and the 3G service was MORE reliable but still not bulletproof. I received numerous compliants from people saying they were getting "number not in service", "right to voicemail", "just kept ringing", etc. Pretty frustrating since when the phone is set to 2G only (EDGE) everything is fine. The update of the OS fixed a lot of the little annoying issues but not being able to reliably use 3G is frustrating. Our systems admin has been hearing all about this.. hahaha.

Now since this isnt a crackberry forum, let me bring this back to the e60 - picking up a MY 2004 545i with nav, bt, voice command, I dont have the build date yet but the in service date is April 2004, do you guys foresee issues with the Bold and this car? I'm only interested in the communications integration (media will come from IPOD) (Which I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions about.....but thats what search is for.).

Also, totally different topic - does anyone have the service bulletin handy for the cracked headlight issue on the e60?

Thanks everyone!

The dealer went in my car (not bought by them) to take a look and wanted to help with the "paring issue" and says;

"BUT THAT IS A PROFFESIONAL PHONE, NOT NORMAL BLUETOOTH !

But the phone is not complete, so basicly you can't use anything"

So I can pair my phone because the Proffesional phone normally works also over bluetooth.

But I can not use the Bold, or any hand phone..

I could not find anything about retrofit in this particular situation on the forum or on the internet.

So I have Incomplete Proffesional Phone, which works over bluetooth, I have the "voice-command" including button,

and navi-proff in my 12-04 535d and want to use normal phone over bluetooth..

Any advice ??

for those who have the Bold on Rogers, do the update released by Rogers recently to .162. it makes a day and night difference in terms of batt life. browsing is supposedly better plus the memory management is better too. haven't really noticed it though. i'm just much more happier with the batt life.

Rudy, i think after reading Kevin's blog from crackberry, he said his bold went haywire when it connected to the AT&T network. it's probably why there's a delay. RIM says they would prefer to work out the kinks before releasing it rather than the iPhone 3G haha... GO RIM GO! <- yah, i tend to hate on the iphone cuz i was a RIM co-op before... lol

Just for your info;

I put my above question in the other topic about retrofit bluetooth..

Because the problem has nothing to do with the blackberry Bold..
