Wildcat you're right. Target Data Status is E060-06-12-510, translates to 24.00. The "mythical" 24.02 either it does not exist or the Target Data Status remains as E060-06-12-510. I.e. no updates for the E60.

I can see Rudy being busy in the next couple of days!

Yeah, except that I'm too busy to deal with the phone issue right now. Actually, I've been busy with what I call "Y2K2" -- the change in Daylight Savings Time has me going a bit nuts making sure a whole bunch of technology stuff is taken care of...

(Yes, the BlackBerry is patched for DST...which reminds me -- maybe the patch is what broke my address book transfer to the car? -- Wildcat, did you download the DST patch for your BlackBerry yet?)

Never thought of that for my Blackberry. Now you have me thinking Rudy and probably I wont apply the patch in fear of having the same issues. Thanks Rudy.

It's funny but the potential impact of the DST change seems to have been missed by many people. I'm surprised nobody is talking about it more -- even in IT circles.

Back in 1999, you'd think that the Y2K issue was going to lead to a total meltdown of all things computing. Obviously people took proper precautions and prepared for the changeover over an exteded period of time. Now, with the DST change, I don't think people are taking it too seriously but in actuality, even though there won't be any major meldowns, I think many people will be inconvenienced by some of these issues...

Lomag, you all patched up?

Then again back in 1999 there were people believing that the world will be come to an end in 2000 as the prophesy was saying.

I haven't updated my BB yet, either, and now I don't think I will.

Except me. I wrote a column about it last fall.

And my syndicated column zooms in on this issue this week.

Cool. But don't you agree that the subject is being taken lightly by many companies? For that matter, I think many companies (not the large ones, of course) haven't even thought about it. Next week, they'll all soon realize what the issue is all about...

After resisting the DST patch for several hours, I finally had to apply it to my Blackberry. As you guessed by now the next thing was to go to my E60 and try the phonebook. Turned the key and voila everything was there. Thanks God.

I am going to be getting a Blackberry soon, however I don't know if I should get the 8700 or the 8800. However, I wanted to get this right...contacts that are transfered to the phone via Outlook won't appear in the car?
