However, if m5 fender liners were used, with his m5 fenders, then there may be just barely enough to not scrub. We did a scrub test at full turn and found it at the max, and that's without any driving compression like in a corner weighting the front which would reduce the clearance more.
BTW, my concern is not for the fronts to clear, but for the rears. If the fronts don't clear, I'll modify the fender liners & hopefully get a few MM of clearance

I can't comment on the front outside edge, but I don't think he will have any issues with the front inside edge of his tires hitting the inside of the wheel well if he's at stock height. I'm running an equal sized tire (245/40/19), with almost no clearance between the wheel and the strut (19x9 et48) and it doesn't rub the liner at full steering wheel lock.

Just as an update, got a chance to mount a 255/35R19 on a 19x10" rear, +25mm offset wheel. It just barely clears on the rear of a 535xi wagon. The fender may need to be rolled just a tiny bit, but I plan to avoid it if possible unless I see evidence of rubbing. Reference post #575 in this thread for wheel test fit.

Tire widths do vary a lot between brands (even with the same size). For this test, the tire was a General G-Max AS-03 255/35R19. The rounded tread shoulder tucks in the fender nicely on this tire.

Is it possible to run a 9.5 or 10 width wheel in the front? I have m5 fenders so it gives me some extra room

I recently found a local deal. The spec as 19x8 with 28 front and 19 x10 with 38 offset. I may not plan to change suspension as I don't want a huge gap(non m). Do you all expert think the setting will work without rubbing? Mine car is 08 xi.
If the setting work. What kinda tires should I get? 225 30 19 on the front and 285 30 19 will work?

Thx

Well I will make it official that there is a sweet option for the E60 XI/xDrive from MORR.

MORR VS8.2 wheels absolutely fit the XI perfectly. They advertise it as such, so no real surprise. From what I've seen too -- it appears the E60 XI and the E9x 335i have about the same offsets. I believe MORR is changing some things around but you can basically get the "3 series fitment" (non-M3) and they fit the E60. I just put on and am now driving around in this setup:

MORR VS8.2

Front: 19x8.5 ET35 with 245/35/19 @ 35 PSI
Rear: 19x10 ET36 with 275/30/19 @ 39 PSI

You can get the 20" from them in a non-staggered setup as well.

yea so funny thing is my car seems to sit lower than with my stock wheels. I was expecting the gap to look bigger but it's really not that bad at all. it is not lowered and I do not have the sport suspension or anything non-stock in that department. looks good for just throwing the wheels on eh?
