I put together a list of questions based on whats been posted here and other places. I didn't want the FAQ to get too detailed and I think the below is just perfect. The goal was just to write up some of the basics which newbies can read and afterwards steer them in the direction of the forums and other places on the site.

Many folks seem to be willing to help answer questions. I figure it might be better to have one person do it (such as myself) and then post the results. Afterwards changes and corrections could be made. This way will help keep this more organized.

As there are some important configuration differences between US and European models, let me know if you want me to do the Europe specific stuff.

I agree with Lomag that one person should do the actual writing of the answers. Having said that, I assume he'll ask us for answers and input so he can compile our experiences into the final answers.

Any answers would be helpful at this point. Most of the specific option answers can be copied directly from BMW's web site and/or product literature. I've got some of the general questions answered already aswell -- the really basic ones.

If anyone wants to answer a section of questions and email me or post the results here that'll be good. Once this FAQ is done a few other small things which I should get done tonight i"ll show you all what I've been up to. It's nothing major yet, but a good info site with lots of pics. Hopefully it'll grow over time and get lots more E60 fans addicted. LOL

Okay, I have to know why you need this question in the FAQ:
How come the HUD display disappears if I'm wearing my sunglasses?
I am curious because I wear sunglasses going to and from work everyday and I always use and see the HUD. Are there Anti-HUD sunglasses out there? What is the deal?

PS. Just being sarcastic about the anti-HUD glasses. Or am I? <_<

I will stick with the cheap stuff. I like my HUD.
