Hi All:

It appears that those with suggestions favor starting the topic again, but with some controls in place. What do you think about the following? jiio you mentioned some suggestions via PM. Let me know if I leave anything significant out.

PLEASE COMMENT IF INTERESTED:

Topic Title: 5-Series Wins, Losses, and Ties
Sub Title: Please Do Not Read if Likely to Be Offended

Administrative Disclaimer (das): Please remember that E60.net does not condone illegal or unsafe driving. Thanks everyone![b]

The purpose of this thread is to create an orderly and dignified record of win/loss/tie results of 5-Series drivers. I have revised the language of the data posted in the now closed thread and have reposted it below. If anyone else wants his or her win/loss/tie record posted here, then let me know by tabulating your data, using win/loss/tie language as done below, and posting it on this thread with few additional comments other than explanatory material. Please use the same procedure if you want your data updated. In either case, I will copy your data to this post making minor revisions if necessary.

If you want to discuss the specifics of particular win/loss/or tie encounters, then please do not use profanity, racist, disrespectful, judgmental, extremely non-PC, or otherwise offensive language. Also please do not stray from the topic. I will request that our mods remove any posts that do not satisfy these criteria. Also, I may request that posts be remove for other reasons if I think that they are inappropriate given the topic.

Guys and Gals: Here is an example of what a win/loss/tie record might look like--although there is no need to post data related to the cars won, lost, or tied. Still, if one wants to do so, then I see no problem. Comments?

Fred Flintstone's Car: Bed Rock 595i; SMG; ...; ....

Record (3, 0, and 1):

Wins:
1. Mustang GT (win) (2 persons in car; 1 in the other)
2. 350Z (win) (2 persons in car; 1 in the other)

Ties:
1. BMW M3 (tie--rolled short distance) (modded?--very fat tires) (2 persons in car; 1 in the other)

Znod, like Lomaq "suggested" : let it go and let's move on...

....also, I am much more impressed and enjoy your educational performance related topics, which have influenced positively quite a few members here. They are much more sophisticated than this "fast and furious" type topic.

Znod,

One major problem with that particular post is the plain fact that street racing is illegal and unsafe. Sure, we all know that and we all do it sometimes but to brag and boast about it is not something we need to do here. Such topics attract unwanted and unneeded negative attention. Listen, you have a strong passion for many topics which many members enjoy (as andy points out too) but in terms of this specific topic, what's done is done, it won't be changed now. Hopefully it's not going to reoccur again. I don't like taking actions that upset people, but I can't please everyone, so I try my best.

Now I personally don't mind "kill" story threads but condoning such actions is not what we want to do.

I think we need some clarity. Are "kill" threads going to be closed/deleted? Are they not allowed anymore?

I think I understand what Lomag is saying. Kill threads, spirited driving, what have you... will not be deleted or closed as long as it's individualized. For example, from time to time when I write about my runs with other cars that is acceptable. What will not acceptable or be condoned is an ongoing thread that lists all the kills. So, I'm guessing we will not be seeing another "5-Series Offical Kill" thread, but the admins will let pass individual kill threads. Do I get that right, Lomag?

I interpret this as correct. Besides, it's exactly the status quo.

I am sorry guys you in the "cradle of new democracy" I do understand admin's decission will not judge it, But for me in Europe it is strange that you mention you did above 100mph when normally it is banned in the States. So this whole thing is

keep on being the best forum, and decide what you want show your speed and bare possible legal resonsibilites or just lay low

Thx GOD in Germany we can still floor it at places official allowed, we did this Summer.

Alex_br killed Mamba badly w an M5 but he admited that the drag of the diesel was surprisingly good. also got killed by an AMG E55 but I think a poor 3L diesel is not a shame then btw Alex killed the guy in Germany and no limitation we got the vids. In the city I never race, from red light to another not exceeding 50km/h I can also smoke many w my 608Nm so what???

On the way back many big engines were pushed away in Germany... and also some big V8 545i who could not pushed it more on the Hockenheimring I will post later. Kills not only depends on car's perf but the driver too. I would not (yet) challenge w any car Steve on the Nring he did more than 200 laps and I was there only once. But going back with them, there is no speedlimit but you must!!! think how hard you push it, we have seen many who floored and flown away

Thanks much for your reply Mark.

OK, I just want to be sure that I am interpreting things correctly. You don't want to see any more kills-type threads no matter how they are worded or what precautions we take in ensuring only "proper" content. Note that my sample post above clearly indicates that the board does not condone unsafe and illegal activities.

And, I have to ask if you are going to be consistent in dealing with other threads that also deal with unsafe and illegal activities on the streets. In this regard, there are "jillions" of threads that talk about going top speed, how fast I got it up to yesterday, spirited cornering on the streets, etc., etc. Will these threads also be closed now and when they appear in the future?

Edit: Hi again. As I look back, others also don't see your instructions as being clear. Please help us with a clear statement of what you are saying and about the issues I raised (as well as ATS as I read him). Thanks.

Edit: For any interested, this is the point at which I had not seen Mark's post saying that jiio got it right. I was still confused about what the rules would be going forward.
