ViS hoods look too busy imo also the vents are just toooooo big. The only other hood I found similar to Vorsteiner hoods on ebay was http://cgi.ebay.com/BMW-E60-SALOON-R...item2eaee37397 and that sh!t cost $1900 lol.
I bought the VIS hood for $920 shipped. It does look busy on the pictures. Thats why I made my decision after I saw it in person, once it is painted, doesnt look bad at all!!

Post pics as soon as you install it. If it's going to look good I might go for it too!

FYI, the manufacturer I found locally in Los Angeles said he is willing to sell his CF hoods for 500 if we have 5 buyers. He will make any hood we want as long as we can provide a sample OEM hood as a base and photos of the vents we want or the actual product we want replicated.

They will come with clear coat, guaranteed fitment and quality.

1 year warranty as well.

Well from what Melvin has said, essentially the shop can recreate it no problem. We just need to find a base to go off of.

I agree , that's the reason i started this , engine bulge is the main reason i wanted vorsteiner in the first place. Well i am sure there must be a member of either this forum or m5board in LA area that would be kind enough to let us have his genuine vorsteiner copied . And i have seen vis and seibon gtr style hoods in person and the fit is not good at all and the mesh on the vents looks super tacky . Vorsteiner is not perfect either but it's day and night compared to the other 2 brands. Bummer is that they stopped manufacturing both single side and double side models for e60 , when i called someone in their wholesale dpt and asked about group buy , he said that they might be willing to make extra if we would order 10 and over but not before spring of next year.

In any way i am also in 200% if this LA based manufacturer can deliver a decent quality hood .

Exactly we need to find a M5 member in LA and ask him if he would be kind enough to allow us to make a mole. I would also be willing to give him some cash to sweeten the deal. I am sure that there are like 10 to 12 people here that want it and if we each gave $25 toasted it. It would be $300. I am sure the shop would also spring up some cash. Hell if I was the owner I would easily give $400 to $500 to get the mole. In LA alone this guy can sell 2 dozen on Craigslist alone at $500 a hood. No question

Someone should approach the shop and discuss it with him. Actually I have his email. I'll check it out with him
