God damn guys, if you aren't interested in the exhaust don't post. It pisses me off when people take a dump on someones thread if they don't think they should sell it or if they think the price is too high. Let her sell her damn exhaust! She didn't even post a price and was willing to trade it for roundels. I'm sure someone who owns a e60 would have a use for a stock exhaust, especially if a car has been in a wreck recently and someone is looking for OEM parts.

As much as I have made some (what I considered) light hearted remarks here, I must agree that common courtesy calls for not knocking anyone's asking price. The exception to that is when the members know each other well, and they yank some chains.

BTW, some forums have a standardized reg: No editorial comments on an asking price. If you do not like the price, do not bid. Do not make an offer. If you like the price, offer the price either on the forum or phone or pm.

Simple as that.

I apologize to AWG if I offended her with my silly comments. I read her comments about me, and I interpreted them as innocent bantering.

Now that we are all reformed....

Does that mean that we have graduated from a reform school??

AWG, why not re-post your ad! Looks like none of us will beat you up (figuratively).

Re-posting might assist in attracting some interested parties.

Brett, REAL OEM is priced 10-15% over actual BMW pricing. I would save your OEM exhaust because you will find out soon enough that MagnaSLOW exhausts are horrible and you have lost considerable performance by installing this muffler. Multiple Dyno tests have shown that MagnaSLOW Exhausts cause a considerable loss of HP/Torque on ALL E60 motors. I have a MagnaSLOW exhaust on my 550 and I would advise anyone considering buying a MagnaSLOW exhaust...DO NOT DO IT!!! The MagnaSLOW exhaust is best used as a boat anchor or farm implement.

Do not sell your OEM exhaust Brett. You will not have your 530i forever and chances are the next owner will not appreciate the excessive droning and loss of horsepower from the MagnaSLOW.

Sorry if this is harsh but it is 100% accurate.
John, could you please clarify?

whats the dyno and the loss of power on a 530?? If its 1-7 its not noticeable AT THE WHEELS. Im not trying to make my 530 something its not. ITS NOT FAST AND ITS NOT GOING TO BE. ITS 225 HP, A GOD DAMN NISSAN MAXIMUM IS FASTER. Would i rather have a nissan? no. This exhaust looks and sounds great. Thats what im interested in. Stock exhaust is not over priced, OEM PARTS COST MORE THAN A MAGNAFLOW. Get over it ptl. Price is fair. If your interested let me know! Thanks for viewing and shitting on my thread.
I hereby bequeath to you 30 extra hp! Free! (Yes, your car has 255--before the new exhaust anyway). Without the charcoal filter, I swear it feels like 256.5.

I have a 14816 on my 550. Immediately after leaving the parking lot of the exhaust shop I regretted my decision. Sure, the exhaust sounds great at very low or high RPM, but at the cost of losing a TON of low end torque and HP. I would say it feels as if someone took away 2 cylinders worth of low end torque, it was that noticeable. Also, the MagnaSLOW drones like a MOFO between 1500-2000RPMS.

I would high recommend spending the extra $$$ and purchasing an RPi Exhaust that was tuned specifically for your car. They are relatively inexpensive and actually produce more HP and Torque than OEM, where as the MagnaSLOW is a loser on both accounts. In the end you will be much, much happier with the purchase of an RPi exhaust. I myself am waiting very patiently for RPi to put a 550 exhaust into production and am biding my time with the MagnaSLOW. I did not heed the advice of several respected members when I bought my Magnaflow and I regret it. Just trying to save others some $$$ and heartache from HP/Torque loss.

I guess if you are just looking for a deeper exhaust note and don't care about HP/Torque loss, than Magnaflow is the way to go.

apples to oranges. i have not changed ANYTHING else from the stock muffler. I want to see a dyno test on a 530 before i believe the hp is significant.

Well RPI did a dyno againt their exhaust and a magnaflow quad setup that is popular for the 545i

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry850817

In this case, magnaflow did lose power across the entire band

whats a nissan maximum? do you think they make a nissan minimum?

1-7 HP loss at the wheels isnt noticable? Really? Now youre just making stuff up to justify your mufflers poor performance.

I guess I should have used a smiley face at least (we don't seem to have a sacasmacon). Good info, though. I promise I will not buy one.
