My Ride: 530i SMG

I have a 530i 2007 series unit. Last Saturday the 15th of August around 4:00 pm I have a late lunch in Addison Texas. When I start the car displayed " Transmission Fail.. Limited to R (Reverse) 1st 2nd and 3rd gear only Service Urgently" at the same time Service Engine Soon light came.

Sunday morning the Display was not coming on my screen. However Service Engine Soon was still on. Monday morning my service adviser accepted me in with a loaner silver KIA Rio.

I was advised later same day that my external maintenance Insurance company refused the repairs. When I called this company they mentioned to me they were misinformed by BMW on the problem. I made a conference call with my service adviser and the Insurance company decided to send inspector to check on the problem.

Today BMW told me to "take the car back since the car seems normal and to bring it back when it fails to drive". That was the insurance company decision as well. Cost was estimated around $6,500.

Now the "Service Engine Soon light" is off. The car seems to drive normal as before.

According to their document it says " CHECKED FAULTS, FAULTS 456F SMG HYDRAULIC PUMP AND 4FB4 CONTROL MODULE INTERNAL FAULT FOUND. RUN TEST PLAN SAID REPLACE THE HYDRAULIC PUMP. AS PER SIB 23 04 06 HYDRAULIC LEAK INTERNAL"

I am totally confused, any one with technical advice is great. I am planning to take a long trip soon.

Regards; /

Don't know much about that, but you'd get more help if you were to post in the E60 Discussion section not on the FS section...Just trying to help out
