I'm putting up for sale my
ESS Tuning Direct Flash Handheld.

Originally bought a year ago from motorcepts
Asking half price. $400
Barley used, still have box and info.

I thought these hand-held DirectFlash Units VIN lock to the original purchaser/owner's car... will you be able to use it on another vehicle? What is to prevent someone from buying this device and then tuning several vehicles and charging those guys a little money and making a profit for themselves?? You might want to contact ESS to verify the VIN lock question I stated above b/c I do not think these are transferable.

Someone else please chime in if you know more about this subject.

afaik these units are VIN specific, the buyer of this would have to register the unit again with ess with his/her VIN, which would cost a fee as well. I would contact ESS directly regarding this....
