BMW are not unfamiliar with issuing major recalls, as i write they are still going through a major recall for possible engine failure for the E46 M3. Many owners have had this major work carried out in the UK so if BMW can do that for the M3 they can certainly make adjustments to our E60s especially as this is a BIG safety issue.
