Time to drive back to Munich.

435 km route plotted for maximum speed limit-less driving on German Autobahnen via Passau.

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny. 2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter. Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.

Checking this on my phone, but im excited to check em out on a computer in a bit.

I gotta read up on the autobahn and why Germany has one but we don't. Probably our stupid safety laws.

Well, it depends if you mean the Autobahn as a concept or not versus a more prosaic definition. Germany, just like the U.S. and other motorized nations, has many limited access, high-speed motorways or Autobahnen.

I would recommend reading the Wikipedia entry on Autobahnen for a start.

great read. ist this 335d a replacement for your 550i? if yes, i knew it was a question of time before you get a diesel in the US

Ja, this replaces the 550i. I am a big believer in diesel which is why I started The Diesel Driver magazine.
