My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
I think BMW should anticipate some user questions better. I read every journalist saying what a pain it is to go through idrive to change radio stations when on the steering wheel is controls for the radio stations.
I thought my center armrest was broken and I sheduled/canceled an appointment with service. I later realized that the armrest was not locking into the forward position when the parking brake was engaged but would always lock if the parking brake was un-engaged. The dealer never asked me that question when I said it was broken.

I agree that we should start are own enthusiast magazine . I really can't understand why these reviewers have such a hard time with Idrive. When they talk about how difficult it is to change a radio station it is obvious that they don't even understand how the car works . You can change audio sources and stations/CD tracks using stering wheel buttons - it couldn't be more simple .
Every who has seen how Idrive works in my car loves it. I've received many compliments on the uncluttered look of the dash.
Pennetta - thanks for sharing the article.
Jzerden - thanks for posting to the website.
