Nope the power it has is enough to take the carrera on a twisty track or on twisty mountain roads IF the car had an LSD to help the power get to the ground properly. As shown at Top Gear Cayman S IS RIGHT in the middle between a boxter and a carrera, in terms of price, performance (lap times), 0-60, power, engine cc. Coincidence right? Bealive me they made sure the car won't be as fast as a 997.

And no, you still miss the point i'm trying to prove. People that buy a cayman S can't bring anything in their defense (about why they didn't get a carrera) except looks (wich is a personal factor, and to be frank here, 997 looks MILES better) or engine set-up. Wich imo none of the reasons are valid.
Some people don't need or don't want an m5. Agree that most of them are finanicially restrained and maybe most of all could afford an m5 but with way bigger financial sacrifices, cuz after all it's not like they bought a suzuki swift instead. But that's not my point here, i want to show that there are alot of people that simply don't need an m5 (i'm not that kind of person btw). Really now, some of them need a more discrete styling, or others want more confortable ride and more of a distace cruiser or both, some may not need that much more power in their everyday sedan. Some of them may put price on the fact that an m5 might be too cheeky. None of the point that ca be applied to the other comparison (cayman s and 997). Both are kinda rude, both have hars ride, both sit low low, both are designed to be a sports car, both attract the same level of attention and so on...
I can't put it more clear than that.

You didnt offend me now, come on. Im saying you cant compare a 911 to a cayman because they are both different. An m5 is obviously the top of the line e60. A cayman and a 911 are both different cars so one is not cheaper or better than another. One doesnt have a back seat and one does.
