The 8AT is great and has the paddles, so you can shift if you are used to it, im starting to use them as Im so used to shifting that its wierd to let the trans do it by itself

It's great, right? I have the 8AT with Paddles on my X5 50i and I am forced to use it after coming off the M. Driving in D mode just isn't ok. Hahahaha!

I agree! After nearly 4 years in the M6 and shifting, I find it too strange to let the car shift, so I find myself shifting more and more ....Now I just need to get thru breakin so I dont have to worry about where I shift in the range!
