I didnt get a chance to as they are a rare bird, but the sport 8AT is great! There are a few members on another board that have gotten the new car with the 6MT and rave about it

Thanks. I ordered my 2007 530 6sp without having driven a 5er manual, but worked out great (after I removed the Clutch Delay Valve). I love to row, but that 8sp auto is the best auto I have ever driven.
