can you set like the speed display and have it on your display all the time or it will hide with the next start???

The display reverts back to the default temperature everytime you start up the car. Meaning you have to go through the process of entering your passcode each time. But once you get the desired display (EG: digital speedometer), just start the car and the display stays locked like in the clip of the 1 series video. You can even cycle through the hidden menu to show other on the fly car information if you want.
